The North-Rose Central School District is seeking candidates for the following anticipated opening:

High School Principal

July 1, 2020

The North Rose-Wolcott Central School District seeks an experienced and dynamic leader responsible for setting a powerful vision for student achievement, motivating others to follow that vision and executing on that vision through effective planning, leadership and management.

Responsibilities:

School Leadership

  • Provide leadership to all staff and students in establishing a positive, structured, achievement-oriented school culture
  • Ensure that the school runs smoothly, efficiently, and on budget
  • Create a data-centered and achievement-oriented school culture
  • Communicate regularly with teachers
  • Model the school values and set the standard for professional behavior

Student Achievement

  • Analyze data with teachers regularly to maximize student performance
  • Analyze student achievement data as well as teacher performance data on variety of metrics, both quantitative and qualitative, and use information to collaborate with leadership team
  • Ensure that every student shows achievement gains and that the school meets the ambitious performance goals set by our school
  • Coordinate administration of all standardized student assessments and evaluations, including Regents exams, interim assessments, and nationally normed assessments.

Teacher Development and Evaluation

  • Hold teachers accountable for meeting high standards for student academic and behavioral performance
  • Working with School Leadership Team, manage teachers’ administrative duties, and school-wide administrative tasks
  • Effectively manage a team of teachers and staff members including recruitment, selection, evaluation, supervision, retention, and dismissal
  • Plan and deliver appropriate professional development for all teachers
  • Lead faculty to ensure that all staff are providing standards-aligned and rigorous daily lessons, and regular and productive interventions

Parent and Family Engagement

  • Maintain communication and relations with the families of the school, ensuring they are kept involved with and informed of their children’s academic and behavioral performance
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student performance and academic achievement
  • Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively
  • Work with staff to plan, coordinate, and support family meetings and special events

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience

Anticipated Start Date:

July 1, 2020

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • NYS Administrator’s Certification
  • Prior administrative experience required
  • High School teaching experience preferred
